The Treasury Department handles budget, property taxes, other financial matters, and financial reporting in the Township of Brock.
Asset Management Plan
The Asset Management Plan is a comprehensive document providing a high level overview of the state of the Township of Brock’s infrastructure as well as management and financial strategies to maintain the infrastructure. The Asset Management Plan is a living document and will continue to be updated and expanded upon in future versions.
Federal Gas Tax Funding
The Federal Gas Tax Fund is a permanent source of funding for municipal infrastructure that contributes to the national objectives of increased productivity and economic growth, cleaner environment, and stronger cities and communities.
Since its launch in 2005, 443 municipalities across Ontario have invested more than $4.9 billion into about 7,400 infrastructure and capacity building projects. Funds can be invested in 16 different infrastructure project categories, or in capacity building. Federal Gas Tax investment in Ontario plays a critical role in improving local quality of life by helping municipalities maintain, rehabilitate and build local infrastructure that meets local needs.
To the end of 2018 the Township of Brock will have received $4,178,383 in funding and has used or committed most of these funds to rehabilitate Local Roads and Bridges in the Township. For each project completed by the Township of Brock under this program a “Outcomes Report” has been completed and submitted to the Association of Municipalities of Ontario. The public can obtain a copy of any Outcome Report by contacting the Municipal Treasurer.
Paper copies of the Consolidated Financial Statements can be obtained in person at the Treasury Counter during normal business hours.
Municipal Performance Measurement Program
The Municipal Performance Measurement Program (MPMP) was a program initiated by the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing that required all municipalities in the Province to measure and report their performance in a number of core service areas.This program was discontinued for 2014 and subsequent years.
This 2020 Municipal Budget Package (pdf) is part of the Township’s continuing efforts to increase ratepayers’ understanding of and participation in the annual budget process. Within the package you will find a wide range of information including:
- common budget and forecast terms;
- the important plans and studies that support the budget process;
- what makes up the Township’s budget;
- how tax rates are calculated; and
- how to have your say about the budget and other Township matters.
Residents and property owners are also invited to fill out the 2020 Budget Survey. Survey responses will be considered during the creation of the 2020 Municipal Budget.
