Our Parks
There are 10 public parks in the Township of Brock. Learn about the amenities and attractions in each park and spend some time outside!
Beaverton Ball Park |
The Beaverton Ball Park is located at 45 Simcoe Street in Beaverton next to the Foster Hewitt Memorial Community Centre. The park includes baseball diamonds that are available for public use and is home to a variety of community events, including the Beaverton Fall Fair. |
Thorah Centennial Park |
Thorah Centennial Park is located at B32000 Shoreline Rd. The park includes a large picnic area, sandy beach, playground and parking. |
Beaverton Harbour Park |
Beaverton Harbour Park is located at 1 Harbour Park Cres. in Beaverton. Situated on the shores of Lake Simcoe, the park has lots to offer, including a beach and marina. Harbours/BeachesHarbour Tourism Kiosk Hours:Monday - Friday 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Saturdays & Sundays - 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Beaverton King Street Park |
Beaverton King Street Park is located 297 King St. in Beaverton. The park has a playground, recreational baseball diamond and an outdoor tennis court. |
Mill Gateway Park |

Cannington MacLeod Park |
Cannington Macleod Park is located at 50 Peace Street (north of the river) and 110 Elliot Street (south of the river) in Cannington. The park has a variety of attractions including a skate park and the cenotaph. AmenitiesThe Cannington MacLeod Park has the following amenities:
2024 MacLeod Park Concept PlansThe 2024 MacLeod Park Concept Plan was presented to Council at the October 7, 2024 Committee of the Whole Meeting. Community Input has been collected by staff and will presented in a report to Council. 2024 MacLeod Park Concept 1Concept 1 focuses on delivering essential recreational facilities while ensuring maximum accessibility for all visitors. By prioritizing the construction of multipurpose sports courts, playgrounds, and seating areas, this design caters to a wide range of recreational activities within a cost-effective framework. The park will feature accessible pathways on both sides of the Beaver River to ensure safe and easy access for individuals of all abilities. This design intends to revitalize many of the park’s existing features such as the asphalt pads for basketball and pickleball, as well as the tennis courts. It balances functionality and inclusivity, creating a welcoming environment for the entire community to enjoy. 2024 MacLeod Park Concept 1 PDF 2024 MacLeod Park Concept 2Concept 2 is a cohesive hub-oriented park design that creates distinct zones for passive and active recreation. This concept presents an identifiable entrance that transitions to active recreational facilities. Notably, this design proposes reduced parking and a repositioned ball diamond to prioritize central open green space for flexible use, passive recreation, and enhanced vistas. Within this central core of the park is an accessible sheltered picnic area, emphasizing a memorable entrance gateway that will serve as a social gathering space for events throughout the year. Beaver River Wetland Conservation Area and Trail |
The Beaver River Wetland Conservation Area and Trail runs from Blackwater to Cannington along a former railway line. This 12.5 km trail runs adjacent to the Beaver River. Lagoon Reserve Walk |

MacLeod Park Nature Trail |
The Macleod Park Nature Trial is a 2.5 km look through Cannington's MacLeod Park and runs along the Beaver River. Trail accessYou can access the trail by the Cannington historical buildings. |
Trans Canada Trail |
The Trans Canada Trail runs across Canada and winds through the Township of Brock. Whether you are backcountry hiking or looking for a local day hike, the Trans Canada Trail is a great option. Route DetailsThis segment of trail follows an abandoned railway line that connects Uxbridge, Sunderland and Lindsay. The trail runs along the Beaver River from 20 km and connects to the Beaver River Wetland Conservation Area in Blackwater. |
Accessible Walking Trails |
The Beaverton walking trail is a 900 ft. trail that begins at the Beaverton fairgrounds located at 176 Main St. The trail links to the Beaverton Harbour. This is a paved trail and is accessible for wheelchairs and strollers. The Beaverton Lions Club contributed to the development of the trail. The Sunderland Lions walking trail is a 1 km paved trail that runs around the Sunderland fairgrounds located at 20 Park St. People of all ages enjoy this safe and accessible trail. The Sunderland Lions Club contributed to the development of the trail and received a Durham Region Accessibility Award for their work championing accessibility in our community. |
Commemorative Donation Program
The purpose of the Commemorative Donation Program is to place dedication trees, benches, and picnic tables in Township parks and in downtown cores that can also help with revitalization. This program is an opportunity for residents, businesses and community organizations to commemorate the lives and achievements of Brock residents.
Be a Benefactor, Give a Gift |
Donations can be made toward a park amenity including as a tree, bench, or a picnic table within one of the beautiful parks, trails or downtown cores in the Township of Brock;
Tree ($750.00): Includes the installation of a 50-60 mm caliper tree and a memorial tag. Tree planting takes place in the spring and fall and a two-year warranty is provided by the Township. All species must meet the approval of staff based on the best fit for the location to ensure the long-term health of the tree. Bench ($1721.85): Includes a stable, solid base, a memorial plaque and installation in a approved location. The make and model of the bench is at the sole discretion of the Township. Picnic Table ($2840.85): Includes an accessible picnic table and a memorial plaque, placed in an approved location. The make and model of the picnic table is at the sole discretion of the Township. The Township will issue a tax receipt to the donor for the full cost of the purchase. To purchase a commemorative donation, please complete the Celebration Program Form. |
