Breeding and/or Boarding Kennel Permits
You require a breeding or boarding kennel licence if you are breeding, and/or boarding dogs or cats. Please review the animal control by-law to determine the allowable number of pets one can own per residence in the Township of Brock. Applications and Renewals
Complete our Breeding and/or Boarding Kennel Licence Application form to apply for a breeding and/or boarding kennel licence. You need to apply for a licence annually by March 1.
Annual Fees
It costs $303 to get a kennel licence for a new operation. For an annual kennel licence renewal, it costs $212.60.
Licence Requirements
You must meet the following requirements in order to get a kennel licence:
- The kennel can't be located within 450 m of a neighbouring residence
- The owner/operator of the kennel must live on the same property as the kennel
- You must provide the name of the kennel owner and all occupants of the lot that contains the kennel
- You must keep an updated list of registrations or serial numbers for each dog at the kennel
- Open the kennel for inspection upon request
- Ensure that all dogs accepted by the kennel are free of contagious or infectious diseases and keep health records for each dog
- Keep the kennel sanitary, well-ventilated and lit
