Council & Standing Committees
Council and Committee meetings are normally held on Mondays during the day with the exception of special public meetings (e.g. planning applications) which are held in the evening. All meetings of Council and Committees are open to the public with the exception of certain items which may be discussed in-camera.
Correspondence to be placed on an agenda must be received by the Clerk’s Department by no later than Tuesday at 12:00 p.m. of the week prior to the Council or Committee meeting.
Council meets on the 1st & 3rd Monday of the month at 10:00 a.m.
Administration & Personnel Committee
The Administration & Personnel Committee meets on the 4th Monday of the month following the Protection to Persons & Property Committee.
The Administration & Personnel Committee deals with administrative related issues and procedures.
Protection to Persons & Property Committee
The Protection to Persons & Property Committee meets on the 4th Monday of the month following the Planning Committee.
The Protection to Persons & Property Committee deals with animal control, by-law enforcement, building, fire, and emergency planning.
The Finance Committee meets on the 1st and 3rd Monday of the month following Council.
The Finance Committee deals with preparing the annual budget, financial reporting, statements, and other matters related to the Treasury Department.
The Planning Committee meets on the 4th Monday of the month commencing at 10:00 am.
The Planning Committee deals with matters related to long-range land use planning, development approvals, and policy.
Public Works Committee
The Public Works Committee meets on the 2nd Monday of the month commencing at 10:00 am
The Public Works Committee deals with maintenance of public buildings, roads and bridges, sidewalks, drains, and traffic control.
Parks & Recreation Committee
The Parks & Recreation Committee meets on the 2nd Monday of the month following the Public Works Committee.
The Parks & Recreation Committee deals with issues related to arenas, parks, community centres, recreational programs, and other cultural facilities.
