Summer Maintenance
The Township of Brock is responsible for maintaining all roads in the municipality. Learn about our summer road maintenance programs.
Dust Suppression
In early to mid-May, we apply a dust suppressant on all gravel roads throughout the municipality. We apply approximately 1.5 million L of 35% liquid calcium chloride, magnesium chloride to the roads. This helps limit dust created by traffic.
Street Sweeping
Each year in April and May, we conduct winter cleanup on our roadways. We sweep and remove sand and salt from all hard surfaced streets and sidewalks. Street sweeping reduces the amount of dust caused by traffic in urban areas.
Gravel Road Grading
We grade all gravel roads in the municipality during the spring months. This removes any accumulation of sand or salt on the road or shoulders.
Tree Removals
During the summer months, we trim and remove trees on public property in order to maintain visibility at all intersections. We also remove trees based on the conditions and health of the tree. We will work to replant all trees that are removed.
Tree removal and trimming on private property is the responsibility of the property owner.
