Mandatory On-Site Sewage Inspections
The Township of Brock was mandated by the Province of Ontario through the Ontario Building Code to inspect all properties on septic systems that are located within 100 metres of Lake Simcoe and 100 meters of the Lake Simcoe watershed. The Township of Brock has contracted the Region of Durham Health Department to perform these inspections.
Inspections of the properties within 100 metres of Lake Simcoe started in 2013. The mandatory inspection program requires all systems to be inspected every five years. Information is available for this program within Phase 1.
Inspections of the properties within 100 metres of the Lake Simcoe watershed started in 2017 and are also required to be inspected every five years. Information is available for this program within Phase 11.
The cost to perform this program is to be paid by the property owner as directed by Council.
Third party inspection reports may be accepted using only the Third Party Inspection Certificate.
