We all get to live in a great country. A country with a deep heritage and reputation for being a compassionate people. We’re not perfect but the fact that we continue to strive to be a caring society trying to balance the needs of everyone surely brings us one step closer to that elusive perfection with each passing day.
I’m so proud to live in this great country. I’m also very proud to live in Brock Township and to be your mayor. Brock, and its residents, are great examples of what makes Canada such a great place to live. We share diversity, respect, and tolerance. We should all share that pride with one another. Regardless of your personal or family background we all share that one unique and blessed trait…. We are Canadians.
This July 1st get out and enjoy Canada Day in Brock Township. We have great events taking place in both Cannington and Beaverton. I want to thank the organizers, The Cannington Lions Club and The Beaverton Lions Club as well as the many organizations and volunteers who will again give up much of their holiday so they can provide a genuine small town party in celebration of our nation’s birthday.
We put on a great party for being a small community and that is again what makes us here in Brock so great. And remember that as you’re celebrating this coming weekend please be careful on our roads and highways and, as the saying goes, water on the water, beer on the pier.
