Property Clean Up Hazards
Understanding the vast amount of damage resulting from the storm, residents are encouraged to exercise extreme caution. Where large repairs or tree cutting is required and outside of your area of expertise, please contact a landscape or tree contractor of your choice. Residents should also consult their insurance provider to review coverage and policy details. Unfortunately, some take advantage of people in times of crisis. To protect yourself when working with a contractor, the Township recommends the following:
- Obtain written details on payment terms including a quote for work that you are comfortable with.
- Avoid paying upfront and in full.
- Verify the legitimacy of the business through evidence of business license and HST number, certification of insurability, and if applicable, arborist certification and business reviews.
