The Township of Brock is pleased to announce the appointment of Michelle Willson as the new Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), effective January 2, 2024.
“On behalf of The Council of The Township of Brock I am proud and pleased to welcome Michelle Willson aboard Team Brock as our next CAO. Michelle’s strong professional credentials and experience will serve her well in helping guide Brock through the many exciting changes and improvements coming to our Township. It was critical for Council to make sure that we not only achieved the goal of obtaining an excellent CAO but that the candidate would provide the support to our outstanding staff and deliver on an atmosphere at the Township that supports personal and professional growth in our team. I want to thank Council, the members of the Hiring Committee, and our interim CAO Ingrid Svelnis for the hard work reviewing and interviewing many excellent candidates over the past month. Michelle represents the best of the best and we all look forward to her transitioning into this vital role in the new year,” said Mayor Schummer.
Michelle brings over twenty years of public sector leadership experience, delivering results through collaboration, strategic thinking, and innovation. Michelle comes to Brock from the Regional Municipality of York, where she is currently the Director of Housing Finance and CFO of the Region’s community housing company. Before joining York Region, she was a senior leader at several Ontario universities. She is passionate about team building, community engagement and continuous improvement. Michelle is a Chartered Professional Accountant and holds a Master of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Waterloo.
“I am honoured and excited to be Brock’s next CAO and am committed to serving the community with passion and integrity,” said Michelle Willson. “I look forward to advancing Council’s priorities and working with the Township’s dedicated team to continue delivering exceptional services to the residents of Brock.”
