The Township of Brock Announces the Appointment of a New Director of Parks, Recreation & Facilities
The Township of Brock is pleased to announce the appointment of Wayne Ward as the new Director of Parks, Recreation & Facilities, effective April 15, 2024.
In December 2023, Council approved the Parks, Recreation & Culture Master Plan, in which several recommendations were made, including the need to establish a separate department for Parks, Recreation, and Culture, distinct from Public Works.
Wayne started with the Township in 2006 as the Fire Prevention Officer, and between 2006 and 2015, Wayne was promoted from Fire Prevention Officer to Chief Fire Prevention Officer to Deputy Fire Chief. He has taken on progressively senior roles and was appointed the Manager of Parks, Recreation, Facilities & IT in February 2022, reporting to the Director of Public Works.
Wayne currently oversees all capital projects related to parks and facilities, manages IT for the Township, is the Harbour Master, manages all tenant issues, and is the lead on the Sunderland Arena Project.
Wayne has assumed all leadership and oversight of the operations of the parks and facilities of the township and as Director of Parks, Recreation & Facilities, will report directly to the CAO.
“On behalf of the leadership team, we look forward to working with Wayne as he continues to lead the operations of the Township’s parks and facilities” said Michelle Willson, CAO.
