The Township of Brock and CUPE Local 1652 have reached an agreement
The Township of Brock and Canadian Union of Public Employees Local 1652 (CUPE 1652), have been negotiating at the bargaining table since the end of the last agreement.
The Bargaining teams worked collaboratively during that time to overt any job action.
At a Special Council Meeting held on Friday, November 22nd, 2024, Council for the Corporation of the Township of Brock, ratified a new Collective Agreement with CUPE 1652. CUPE members ratified the agreement earlier the same day.
The term of the new Collective Agreement is April 1, 2023, to March 31, 2026.
"I'm pleased that our bargaining team worked to achieve a mutually beneficial agreement. These are difficult times and I believe we did everything we could to manage the impact to Brock taxpayers while working with CUPE to get a collective agreement that reflects our dedication to supporting our staff as they serve the residents of Brock. This three-year agreement establishes a solid foundation for labour stability as we continue to move our township forward in a responsible and proactive way. The effects on our annual budget will be managed as best as possible by Township staff and Council."
