Watermain replacement on Simcoe Street (Regional Road 15), Bay Street, Mill Street, and Church Street in the Township of Brock
The Regional Municipality of Durham is continuing construction on the watermain replacement on Simcoe Street (Regional Road 15), Bay Street, and Mill Street in the Township of Brock. Please refer to the attached map for construction limits.
CONSTRUCTION SCHEDULE
The Region’s contractor, Carchidi Excavating Ltd. will be returning to site April 29. Work on Simcoe Street is anticipated to commence April 29 and take about three weeks to complete. Construction on Bay Street, Mill Street and Church is anticipated to start May 20 with work being completed by the end of September 2024. Contract works in their entirety are anticipated to be completed by Spring 2025. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.
LANE RESTRICTIONS AND ROAD CLOSURES
The roadways will be open to local traffic for the duration of the contract however, Simcoe Street will be closed to through traffic from Madill Street easterly to the west driveway of Holy Family Catholic School from April 29 to May 17. Traffic delays should be anticipated. Further notice regarding road closures will be posted on durham.ca/BeavertonWatermain as well as signage placed onsite.
PARKING
Access to residential driveways will be maintained whenever possible. Notification will be given to residents if vehicles need to be moved out of the driveway. If you are unable to access your driveway due to this work, a permit is required to park on the street.
Municipal construction projects include the use of vibratory equipment which may be noticeable inside nearby homes. The Region realizes that the construction work will be disruptive and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible.
