The Township of Brock has declared a Significant Weather Event
An ice storm is expected to impact our area this weekend starting Friday evening and continuing all weekend till Monday, bringing hazardous conditions. Avoid unnecessary travel. If you must travel, drive slowly, and keep a safe distance from other vehicles.
There will be significant ice accretion from freezing rain. General ice accretion amounts of 10 to 20 mm, with amounts more than 25 mm possible. There will be possibility of utility outages, slippery surfaces, and broken tree branches from ice build-up. The area will receive significant freezing rain over the upcoming weekend. Precipitation may begin as snow or rain before changing over to freezing rain this evening. Freezing rain may become lighter for a brief period of time for some areas on Saturday. Freezing rain will change to rain on Sunday as temperatures rise above the freezing mark.
Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority has also released a watershed condition statement today. Water levels are expected to rise significantly.
