Back to SearchThe Regional Municipality of Durham has begun the watermain replacement on Jane Street from Ida Street to approximately 230 metres north of Ida Street, Ida Street between Albert Street and Jane Street, and Maple Street North.
Construction Schedule
The Region’s contractor, JCR Contracting Ltd., mobilized the week of September 30, 2024 and started work on Jane Street and Ida Street. Work is advancing ahead of schedule and the contractor is prepared to commence with the watermain replacement on Maple Street North. Most work is anticipated to be completed by December 2024 with final restoration to be completed in the spring of 2025. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.
Road closure and parking
The roadways will be open for local traffic and emergency access for the duration of construction. Residents should expect traffic delays and are asked to exercise additional caution for the safety of the workers. Access to driveways will be maintained whenever possible. Notification will be given to residents should vehicles need to be moved out of their driveways. If you are unable to access your driveway due to this work, please follow the applicable Township of Brock parking bylaws.
Municipal construction projects include the use of equipment which may cause noticeable noise and vibration for nearby residents and businesses. The Region realizes that the construction work will be disruptive and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Temporary Water Service Interruptions
The contractor will also be installing a temporary watermain system. During this work, residents will experience intermittent water supply interruptions. The contractor will notify impacted properties at least 24 hours in advance of any required service interruptions to give residents time to prepare.
