Notice of a Public Meeting with respect to the Building By-law and Related Fees 2024
Take Notice that the Township of Brock will hold a Public Meeting to consider the passing of a by-law to adopt new and amended building fees and charges under Section 7(6) of the Building Code Act, as amended, at the Council Meeting on November 18, 2024.
Purpose and Effect
The Township of Brock is proposing to amend some costs of the building permit fees above the prescribed 2% increase noted within the by-law following a review of the current permit fees and the costs associated with providing service to administer and enforce the Ontario Building Code and the Building Code Act, as amended, with regards to issuance of building permits through Section 7. The effect will be to increase the existing fee structure and introduce a new four (4) year fee schedule, as well as amendments to the building by-law, and will take the form of a replacement by-law. It is the intent that the new fee schedule will be effective January 1, 2025.
The following information will be available to the public by contacting the Building Admin at billie.clark@brock.ca or in person at the Township Municipal Office:
- The amended Building By-law;
- The proposed permit fees;
- The current permit fees; and
- Justification of the permit fee increase.
Public Meeting
The Council of the Township of Brock is holding a Hybrid Public Meeting to provide interested parties the opportunity to learn more about the proposed amendment and make comments before any decisions are made. This virtual public meeting will be held on:

Comments or Questions
Any person may attend the public meeting and/or make written or oral representation either in support of, or in opposition to, the proposed permit fee schedule. Should you wish to participate electronically and speak during the meeting to provide comments, please register with the Clerk’s Department in advance of the meeting by emailing clerks@brock.ca. You must receive the Zoom link from the Clerk’s Department to speak at the meeting.
