Current Vehicle Weight Restrictions
Due to current road conditions and the unseasonably warm weather, the municipality is imposing load restrictions, effective Friday, February 9, 2024, on all municipal roads in the Township of Brock.
These temporary weight restrictions will remain in place until staff deem the conditions suitable for heavier traffic. Staff will continue to monitor the conditions and will post once the weight restrictions have been lifted.
Frequently Asked Questions:
Why do we impose ½ load restrictions?
The warmer temperatures in spring cause the roads to thaw. When the roads thaw they temporarily lose their strength and are put under great pressure with heavier loads.
Who imposes ½ load restrictions?
Many municipalities impose weight restrictions to better protect our road infrastructure.
Who do ½ load restrictions effect?
When half load restrictions are in place all vehicles heavier than 5,000 kilograms or 5 tonnes per axel are required to find an alternate route.
