Half Load Restrictions in effect March 1, 2025

Please be advised that half load restrictions will be in effect in the Township of Brock as of Saturday March 1st, 2025.
Half-load restrictions are generally from March to May. Exact dates are set each year, dependent on road conditions and temperatures. When half-load restrictions are in effect, signs will indicate the road is off limits to vehicles exceeding 5 tonnes per axle.
Please note passenger vehicles are exempt from this restriction.
Frequently Asked Questions:
Q. Why do we impose ½ load restrictions?
A. The warmer temperatures in spring cause the roads to thaw. When the roads thaw they temporarily lose their strength and are put under great pressure with heavier loads.
Q. Who imposes ½ load restrictions?
A. Many municipalities impose weight restrictions to better protect our road infrastructure.
Q. Who do ½ load restrictions effect?
A. When half load restrictions are in place all vehicles heavier than 5,000 kilograms or 5 tonnes per axel are required to find an alternate route.
