Council Highlights - February 24, 2025

Council Highlights offer a summary of crucial decisions or agenda items discussed in Council meetings, aiming to give residents a snapshot of the meeting proceedings.
The Township of Brock Council discussed the following at the February 24, 2025 Council meeting:
- Council received a delegation from Trinity-St. Andrew’s United Church regarding The Witness Blanket Exhibit, which will be on display for 6 weeks, commencing September 7 – October 15, 2025. The interactive art installation contains 800 items collected from schools, churches, donations, and government buildings and encourages others to bear witness and work towards Truth and Reconciliation
- The 2025 Operating and Capital Budget was approved by Council, with a net tax levy increase of 4.44%
- Council approved amendments to the Traffic By-law which will prohibit stopping on the north side of King Street (Beaverton) from Mara Road to Lakeland Crescent
- As a pilot program for summer 2025, individual day registration will be made available after June 7th for the Township Summer Camp programs.
- Amendments have been approved to the Brock Sports Hall of Fame event by Council for the creation of an Awards of Merit Event which, on an annual basis, will recognize residents whose achievements/services have brought recognition to our community and/or have added value and enriched the lives of our residents.
