Beaver River Bridge Replacement update September 27, 2024
The Region of Durham is progressing with temporary and permanent replacements of the Beaver River Bridge, located on Regional Road 15 west of Highway 12, in the Township of Brock. The old bridge will be replaced with a new structure and it is scheduled to commence construction in 2026 and be completed in 2027. In the interim, a temporary bridge is scheduled to be opened to traffic in the late Fall of 2024.
The Region's contractor, Elirpa Construction and Materials Ltd., mobilized to the site on July 8th. The old bridge has been removed and the temporary bridge has been fabricated. Hydro relocations to allow installation of the temporary bridge are nearing completion. The temporary bridge abutments are being constructed and the bridge components will arrive on-site the week of October 7th.
Approvals for the temporary bridge are being obtained from Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority (LSRCA) and Ontario Ministry of Transportation (MTO). The Region appreciates the support of our partners for their timely approvals to complete this important project for the community.
Funding for this project is being provided by the Ministry of Transportation of Ontario.
