The Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority advises that 45 mm of rainfall is forecast over the next few days.

The Township of Brock is pleased to announce the appointment of Wayne Ward as the new Director of Parks, Recreation & Facilities, effective April 15, 2024.
In December 2023, Council approved the Parks, Recreation & Culture Master Plan, in which several recommendations were made, including the need to establish a separate department for Parks, Recreation, and Culture, distinct from Public Works.

Durham Region’s Waste Management Facilities increasing user fees effective May 1

Whitby, Ontario – Effective May 1, 2024, the minimum user fee for general residential and commercial garbage waste will increase from $5 per load to $7 per load for loads up to 40 kilograms (88 pounds). For every eight kilograms greater than 40 kilograms, the fee will increase from $1 to $1.40. The flat rate for loads weighing 1,000 kilograms (metric tonne) or more will increase from $125 to $175 per 1,000 kilograms. The Ontario Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing issued Ontario CodeNews e-bulletin #354, dated April 10, 2024, to announce the release of the 2024 Edition of Ontario's Building Code.
The 2024 Ontario Building Code will come into effect on January 1, 2025, with a three-month transition period that extends until March 31, 2025, for applications for which the working drawings were substantially complete before January 1, 2025.
