Sunderland Arena Renovation and Expansion Project Timeline Update

The timelines for the Sunderland Arena closure have been updated to reflect delays due to cost escalations and the resulting de-scope of the project to meet budget.
The arena was initially scheduled to close April 8, 2024. With the delay for approval from the Province on the Township’s de-scope application, the anticipated construction start has been pushed back five months to mid-September 2024, following the Sunderland Fall Fair.
The updated project timelines are as follows:

The Township of Brock Council Discussed the follow:
- Director of Finance/Treasurer presented the 2024 Draft Operating and Capital Budget presentation to Council. This high level presentation shared some of the high level conversations that will be covered during the upcoming budget deliberations. The 2024 Budget is being discussed Monday February 5, 2024 10:00 a.m., Thursday February 8, 2024 10:00 a.m. Thursday February 15, 2025 10:00 a.m. Expected to commence on Monday February 26, 2024 3:00 p.m.

Update on watermain project at Simcoe St., Beaverton

January 25, 2024 Update
Contractors have completed works for this winter season. Simcoe St is now open between the Holy Family Catholic School and Madill St.
January 20, 2024 Update
Contractors have returned to the site to complete the mainline watermain on Simcoe Street from Union St. to Madill St Simcoe Street will remain closed until work has been completed.
Next week, contractors will be laying temporary asphalt across Madill Street. Access to Holy Family Catholic School and Beaverton...
