Notice of a Statutory Public Meeting – November 4, 2019

This notice is being sent to all residents within 200m of the subject property as well as residents that provided a written request to be notified regarding this project in 2011.  This application was presented to the public at a Statutory Public Meeting on October 12, 2011.  The application is being presented to the public once again because of the 8-year time lapse, to update the public on any changes to the application.

TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Brock will hold a public meeting on the 4th day of November at 6:30 p.m., in the Municipal Administration Building Council Chambers, 1 Cameron Street East, Cannington, to consider a proposed amendment to Zoning By-law No. 287-78-PL, the comprehensive Zoning By-law, in accordance with Section 34 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, as amended.

The application has been submitted by Michael Smith Planning Consultants; Development Co-ordinators, on behalf of 952946 Ontario Inc. (File: 3-2011-RA). A concurrent plan of subdivision application has been submitted to the Regional Municipality of Durham (File: S-B-2011-01).

THE SUBJECT LAND, consisting of approximately 7.9 acres, is located on the south side of Victoria Avenue, west of the Canadian National Railway, and north of the existing marina. The property is within part of Lot 15, Concession 6 (Thorah). The location is shown on the Key Map below.

THE AMENDMENT, upon approval, serves to rezone the subject land from the Development (D) Zone category to a Residential Type No. 1 Exception (R1 – Exception) and Residential Type No. 3 Exception (R3 – Exception) Holding (H) Zone categories. This will permit the development of 7 single-detached dwellings and a 4-storey building containing 80 residential apartment units.

ANY PERSON may attend the public meeting and/or make written or verbal representation either in support of or in opposition to this proposed amendment. If you are unable to attend the meeting, written submissions will be received by the undersigned and should also include a request for further notification, if so desired.

If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Township of Brock before the by-law is enacted (if approved), the person or public body is NOT entitled to appeal the decision of the Council of the Township of Brock to the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal.

Further, the person or public body may NOT be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to do so.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION relating to the draft By-law Amendment is available for inspection during regular office hours at the Municipal Administration Building.

Dated at the Corporation of the Township of Brock this 11th day of October, 2019.
