Durham Region Works Department :Lake Ridge Road (Regional Road 23) & Regional Road 12 / Pefferlaw Road, Township of Brock & Town of Georgina
The Regional Municipality of Durham will be reconstructing the intersection of Lake Ridge Road (Regional Road 23) and Regional Road 12 / Pefferlaw Road into a single lane roundabout. The work includes re-alignment of all four approaches to the intersection, roadway illumination, hot mix paving, concrete curb & gutter, median islands, pavement marking and landscaping.
The Region’s contractor, Primrose Contracting Inc., will commence work the week of July 8 and expects to complete the work by November 15. Please note that unfavorable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.
Road Closures & Lane Restrictions
Lake Ridge Road south of Regional Road 12 is scheduled to close on July 26 for approximately six weeks. Lake Ridge Road north of Regional Road 12 is scheduled to close on September 5 for approximately six weeks. Traffic will be diverted via signed detour routes. During the road closures, the intersection will operate as a three-way stop.
Daily lane restrictions will be minimal but are permitted at certain times throughout the duration of the project. Drivers should expect delays within the construction limits.
The Region realizes that the construction work will be disruptive and will complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible. Drivers are asked to exercise additional caution for pedestrian, cyclist, and construction worker safety.
