Durham Region Works Department – Gamebridge Bridge Replacement & Road Closure
The Regional Municipality of Durham, in partnership with the County of Simcoe, has awarded a contract for the replacement of the Gamebridge Bridge over the Talbot River on Regional Road 51 / Ramara Road 51, in the Townships of Brock and Ramara. The work will consist of removal and replacement of the Gamebridge Bridge structure, 160 metres of road reconstruction and pavement markings.
The Region’s Contractor, Esposito Bros Construction Ltd., will mobilize the week of October 1 and close the road on October 9, after the Thanksgiving weekend. the contractor is expected to complete the project by the end of summer 2019. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.
Talbot Road will be closed through traffic between Regional Road 50 and Concession Road A from October 2018 until the end of Summer 2019. All traffic will be directed to use Highway 12 as a detour route. Talbot Road north and south of the bridge will remain open to local traffic only. The Region and the County realize the the construction work will be disruptive and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible.
