Plans of Subdivision/Condominium

While the Region of Durham has responsibility for plan approval, the Township ensures that municipal interests are protected. Plans of subdivision/condominium are authorized under Section 51 of the Planning Act as well as the Condominium Act.  The Region of Durham is responsible for the approval of a plan of subdivision and condominium, and an application is required if the intention is to create more than three (3) lots.  Development of less than three (3) lots can normally be accommodated through the land division process.

Approval of a plan is based on securing two items:  draft plan approval (approving the plan's concept and layout together with conditions) and final registration (satisfying all conditions).

While the Region of Durham has responsibility for plan approval, the municipality plays an important role to ensure that municipal interests are protected.  In this regard the Township of Brock requires that an application be submitted.

If you wish to submit an application for a Plan of Subdivision/Condominium, download the Application Form (pdf) and Application Guide (pdf)

Regional application forms can be found on the Region’s website under the department “Planning”.
