Reminder: Brocks Winter Operations

It appears that winter has decided to join us again. In anticipation of arriving snow, Brock would like to remind public of our winter operations related to snow removal.
A little bit about winter operations: Brock Township maintains over 700 lane km of road and over 26 km of sidewalk. Our Winter Fleet consists of 3 graders, 9 tandems with plows, 2 pick-ups with plows, and 5 sidewalk units. We have a compliment of 13 full time staff and 5 casual employees. Beaver River Bridge update on behalf of the Ministry of Transportation

In November 2023, due to concerns with the condition of the bridge, ministry engineers recommended the bridge be closed to traffic while a thorough structural assessment was carried out.
The structural assessment and Bridge Load Testing have now been completed and unfortunately, the results do not support a full reopening of the bridge. Winter update - Sunderland and Cannington public access to municipal water

Cannington and Sunderland public access water has been shut off for the 2024 winter months. Public access in Beaverton will remain in service.

Naming the Marydel Park Block

The Township of Brock has received an application from the Beaverton Lions Club to name the future park in the Marydel subdivision.
Park Location: In the Marydel subdivision between McCaskell Street and Foster Hewitt Street. Additional parkland may also be added to this block through a future subdivision, however, no decision have been made on the subdivision application yet.
