The Township of Brock has declared a State of Emergency due to the severe and escalating impacts of the ongoing ice storm affecting the region.
The declaration was made by Mayor Walter Schummer, Deputy Mayor Mike Jubb, Brock Township Fire Chief Rick Harrison and Deputy CAO/Municipal Clerk Fernando Lamanna at 1.26 p.m. on March 30, 2025

Communication lines at the Township of Brock Municipal office have been restored and our staff are sorting through the messages concerning the ice storm. March 31, Update - Township of Brock Emergency Declaration

The Township of Brock has declared a State of Emergency due to the severe and escalating impacts of the ongoing ice storm affecting the region. The Township Municipal Administration Building has no landline telephone service and Bell cell connection is very limited. Residents that do have power or the ability to email concerns can do so via publicworks@brock.ca and staff will get to those once communication services are re-established.

The Township of Brock continues to respond to the impacts of the ice storm. All available resources are actively responding, as well as Hydro One to address downed and potentially live wires as quickly and safely as possible. Please stay away from downed power lines.
The weight of the ice is causing significant tree damage and power lines to fall, creating hazardous conditions across Brock. Local road closures will be implemented as required to ensure safety and allow for efficient operations.

The Township of Brock has declared a Significant Weather Event
An ice storm is expected to impact our area this weekend starting Friday evening and continuing all weekend till Monday, bringing hazardous conditions. Avoid unnecessary travel. If you must travel, drive slowly, and keep a safe distance from other vehicles.
