Durham Region is undertaking a study to update policies for agriculture-related and on-farm diversified activities, and the application and approval processes for these activities within the townships of Brock, Scugog and Uxbridge. Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham, with the support of the Township of Brock and on behalf of the Ontario Ministry of Transportation, will be temporarily replacing the Beaver River Bridge until a permanent replacement can be constructed.

Whitby, Ontario – Effective May 1, 2024, the minimum user fee for general residential and commercial garbage waste will increase from $5 per load to $7 per load for loads up to 40 kilograms (88 pounds). For every eight kilograms greater than 40 kilograms, the fee will increase from $1 to $1.40. The flat rate for loads weighing 1,000 kilograms (metric tonne) or more will increase from $125 to $175 per 1,000 kilograms.
