Thank you to agriculture businesses and community members who provided feedback on Durham Region’s study to update policies for agriculture-related and on-farm diversified uses in the townships of Brock, Scugog and Uxbridge.
The agriculture sector is an important component of the local economy—providing food, products, a livelihood and jobs for farmers and their employees. It also helps to support rural businesses that provide products and services, contributing to the agricultural system.

Tariff Response - Invest Durham

The threat of U.S. Tariffs is already having impacts. If 25% tariffs are applied in four weeks, with Canadian retaliatory tariffs, it will cause broad impacts on jobs and the local economy.
Durham Region, with the Cities, Towns, and Townships as well as the Chambers of Commerce and Boards of Trade have combined forces to create a plan to support the impacted businesses and residents of Durham.

Speed limit reduction and community safety zone in Beaverton

Whitby, Ontario – In support of Durham Vision Zero, the Regional Municipality of Durham, in collaboration with the Township of Brock, will be installing 40 kilometres/hour (km/h) posted speed limits and a new community safety zone in Beaverton.
