Compost Giveaway events are being held across the region from April 29 to May 27

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham has teamed up with the area municipalities to offer free compost to residents at special events taking place across the region.
When and where:
Saturday, April 29 from 8 a.m. to noon

Whitby, Ontario – To better serve the community, The Region of Durham, in collaboration with the Social Research Centre at Ontario Tech University, want to know more about residents’ understanding of nuclear emergency preparedness.

Regional service disruption scheduled for April 6 and 10, 2023

Whitby, Ontario – On the evenings of Thursday, April 6 and Monday, April 10, the Region’s telephone systems and servers will experience service disruptions as scheduled maintenance is performed at Regional Headquarters.
When: Thursday, April 6 at 5 p.m. (for approximately eight hours) and Monday, April 10 at 4 p.m. (for approximately seven hours).

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham is reminding residents to place their used or unwanted household batteries out for recycling on their collection day during the week of April 17.
When: Spring battery collection occurs April 17 to 21, on blue box collection days.
Where: Households across Durham Region who currently receive curbside collection services.
