• The Township of Brock is proud to recognize Captain Jesse Beaudrow, for his incredible courage in risking his life to save others. Jesse was recently awarded the Ontario Medal for Firefighter Bravery, the province’s highest honour for his heroism.

•  The contract to replace the Cannington lawn Bowling roof has been received and rewarded to Chouinard Bros Roofing. Construction timeline has yet to be determined.

• Durham Region Waste Management presented the Blue Box Program Update to Council
• The Township of Brock is partnering with the Lake Simcoe Regional Conservation Authority (LSRCA) on a Low Impact Development (LID) project at the Beaverton Fire Hall.
• Committee of the Whole has approved the Brock Tourism Advisory Committee Workplan

March 11, 2024 Committee of the Whole Council Highlights

• Council received a presentation regarding the Downtown Community Improvement Plan (CIP) Review and Update
• The current CIP is under review. Phase 2 of the project (early April) will including drafting a downtown CIP and consultation and engagement with the public and other stakeholders. Phase 3 of the project (May) will be the finalization of the new CIP, a statutory public meeting and Council adoption of the final plan.

• The Township of Brock has approved their 2024 Operating And Capital Budget.  The net levy increase for 2024 is 3.97% which equates to an increase on the Township of Brock portion of the tax bill of approximately $19.15 per year, per each $100,000 of residential assessment.
